It's hard to describe how mesmerizing this book is. For those of you who only know Roeg by his darker films, be prepared to be surprised. This is enlightening and light, lilting and deep, all at once

Fascinating insight into one of our greatest directors. Not so much autobiographic but more vignettes and observations about his life and love of making movies . Very readable.

Until he begins to sound like Shirley MacLaine 's illegitimate brother, this is just a wonderful book. The last few chapters are all about the probability of past life experience and the fascism of the scientific method. It is sad that maestro Roeg is unable to bask in the glory of human achievement that was birthed by rational creative thought. You almost feel that he would be ok if they had sacrificed virgins to appease the gods during hurricane sandy.Two thirds of this book is a great read.
