If I was a teacher, I would not use this book.

For the price it should be at least bound with a cover, the text is poorly written and doesn't really explain concepts well... In fact it makes financial accounting more confusing and is already causing me problems in class 2 weeks into the semester. The way the text describes concepts just doesn't make sense. For example: the text defines "amounts (of money?) received from issuing stock" as: "not revenues", and "amounts (of money?) paid out as dividends" as "not expenses"... But the text does not define what these ideas are, instead it defines them by what they are not... This doesn't help students learning finance. The text is just too vague in it's descriptions of ideas and concepts. As a published author, if I was in charge of teaching an accounting class I would not use this book.

I can understand a chemistry or biology textbook better than this one

This textbook was required. My professor's lecture was based on this book. Reading it was difficult. I wished the authors were writing the textbooks to young students that are not in the college of business. In fact, I can understand a chemistry or biology textbook better than this one.
I don't like the book's format. There's a lot of unnecessary pictures, side notes, and "ethic notes" that could be omitted. They take up a lot of space, and I would like that room to write in the margins. Also, if the stuff on the side is important, why not just put it within the paragraph, so I can have space to write my notes. It cost a lot of money to textbook with LOTS of colors. Save money; rent it or buy it used.

I don't like how the author bolded "important text." It's irritating and distracting to see unbolded text and then bolded text. It disturbs the flow of reading. If the authors were able to write a paragraph in context, instead of relying on sentence to do most of the teaching, it wouldn't be so hard to read. The rules of economics doesn't apply to literature, guys.

terribly overpriced

This was on required list of textbooks for my accounting class. I could not afford the almost 300$ print version so had to go kindle. Don't get me wrong, I love kindle, but it's harder to do homework with digital textbooks especially if you are reading from computer and trying to absorb entire page but you can only view half, having to zoom in or out. Also, if you try to copy and paste things like the tables so you can complete practice exercises, kindle reader does an extremely poor job with this.
Teachers, please stop letting universities and colleges abuse us with a 300$ required textbook! This isn't astrophysics, it's accounting.
